Story

Hooray, I did it! My Great North run was an incredible experience with a whole load of emotions playing a part. From the nerves beforehand as I waited with all the other first timers to cross the start line to the excitement of being part of the world’s biggest half marathon and the exhilaration of being cheered to the finish line by the wonderful Tyneside locals. I may not have seen Mo run but I did see a whole load of penguins, some bare-bottomed nuns and Scooby Doo. In the end I didn’t really notice the blustery weather! Thank you to all at the Meningitis Trust tent at South Shields. I really did appreciate the tea, goodies and leg massage! I’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored me already. It’s not too late to donate. The recently combined charities of Meningitis UK and Meningitis Trust are committed to funding pioneering research to find a vaccine and other cures for this devastating disease and in supporting those who have been affected by meningitis. Please help me boost Mark's tribute fund and help raise important money for this cause. £10 buys 1000 symptom cards £25 funds 1 hour of research £500 buys a lab computer Thank you for your support.
